Lone Star State of Mind

Pat Green said it best when he said “let a little Texas fill my soul.” At As you wish... we couldn't agree more! Here are a few Texas-inspired wedding ideas to get you started. Whether you are a native of the Lone Star Sate {or maybe you got here as quick as you could} let your imagination take you away...

Changing into your favorite pair of worn-in cowboy boots is a great way to get the party started at your reception. Take two-stepping lessons with your man in advance to show off your skills! Once a month, you can take free lessons at Gilley's in Dallas. Click here for more info about Gilley's, and here to go straight to the instructor's site.

Feature the yellow rose of Texas in your bouquets, and add in peach and orange tones to spice things up a bit. Who can resist this adorable flower girl in her yellow frock?

Celebrate your love of Texas by hosting your reception in the great outdoors. Here are a few inspirations we love!

Lastly, we would be remiss not to share our favorite Texas Martini Recipe. It takes the basic martini and uses tequila instead of gin and vermouth. Read more about signature cocktails here:

In a 16-oz shaker full of ice, combine:
1.5 oz. Sauza Gold Tequila
1.5 oz. Hiram Walker Triple Sec

Finish with freshly squeezed lime juice, a splash of orange juice, and sweet and sour. Shake well and serve in a martini glass with a salted rim, garnished with olives on a decorative toothpick and a lime wedge. Cheers!
